Kingshoath (“hoath”, old English name for wood) Cottage
is a comfortable , well equipped grade II listed 16th century traditional
cottage situated in a country lane on the outskirts of the village
of Beckley, between Rye and battle.
The property accommodates up to 8 guests, although smaller parties
often book and enjoy the space (small party discounts available
for parties 5 and under). The cottage offers versatile accommodation
with a warm homely and rustic atmosphere. Oak beams throughout and
flooring downstairs. The cottage has a large lounge with open log
fire, a separate dining room with an adjoining small sitting room,
a modern fitted country kitchen, study c/w library, utility room,
two bathrooms and four bedrooms (two double and two twins).
To the rear of the cottage is a well maintained enclosed mature
lawn garden complete with summer house, childrens swings, garden
furniture, Bar-b-que. To the side of the cottage is off road parking
for three cars.
Within 700 yards of the cottage is a traditional English country
pub (Rose & Crown) which serves good home cooked food in a country
atmosphere.
This is a truly wonderful location for exploring 1066 country,
providing easy access to the Sussex Coastline as well as the ancient
towns of Battle, Rye and Tenterden all within 10 miles or just relaxing
with a good book.
If you are seeking something different, take the steam train from
Northiam to the picturesque Bodium castle or, the antique and coffee
shops in Tenterden. Alternatively, either take the Euro shuttle
for a days shopping in France or a light aircraft flight from Lydd
to Le Touquet.
Plenty of good walking, horse riding, golf and water sports.
