Local Restaurants

The local Rose & Crown pub is good for sampling local country atmosphere. The pub serves simple pub food.. Hours 7pm - 9pm but go early or book on Thurs/Fri/Sat nights as can get busy for food. No food Sunday & Monday nights. Pub has a pool table and dartboard. If you walk up to the pub in winter, take a torch (but, please bring it back), as it gets very dark in winter as no street lights.

The Station House Public House near Northiam railway station has recently been refurbished and reopened. modern atmosphere offering a range of wines, beers, etc. Also coffee and free wifi access which is very useful. Menu offers a good selection. well worth trying.

Very near Northiam steam train, station is Stir Crazy specialising in Thai, Malay and Chinese food. The restaurant is contemporary in feel, not long been open. We have just tried it and the food and service were both good when we visited.   If you wish o go with children best to go at lunch time as operates children's menu which is absent evenings.  However we took our early in the evening food starts serving at 7pm and they enjoyed the experience.
